Swing Set: Things to Consider before Buying
You must first consider what you can afford in a swing set. Wooden swing
sets are generally the most attractive, but then, of course, the most
expensive types as well. You need to determine if your budget can handle
the cost of a wooden swing set. You also need to determine what type of
warranty the swing set contains. Find out the duration of the warranty
and what is specifically covered under the warranty. You also need to
find out what types of options and accessories are available on the
wooden swing sets. There are many different types of play equipment that
can be included with a wooden swing set. You need to choose the
equipment that your children will be interested in for years to come,
and of course, keep safety in mind when choosing your swing set. Since
there are so many different types of wooden swing sets, it can be a
confusing task to select one that you deem best for your children.
Another factor to keep in mind is the amount of space you have in which
to set up your swing set. Also decide whether the space is ready for the
swing set or if you need to do some preparation or landscape work before
the swing set is installed.
One important factor to keep in mind is to make sure that the swing set
has adequate space around it to maintain safety and to utilize all of
the other equipment (besides the actual swings).
Most manufacturers will recommend that you supply a six foot perimeter
around your swing set for adequate safety. By providing this amount of
space, your child will have adequate space to play with all of the
features of the equipment and the equipment will not get in the way of
landscaping or objects such as trees and fences.
The slide should be positioned in the proper direction so that the
children will be unencumbered when they slide off of it and not
interfere with other children playing on the equipment.
Keep all of these safety features in mind when you are planning to
install your swing set.
